Port KC

Goal:

The client had an existing website but wanted an upgraded brand. They also wanted to help people get a quick impression of what Port KC does, and help site vistors see Port KC as a partner, as a brand, and working to make the city better.

Technologies:

WordPress, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Divi Theme, Zoho Projects, Flywheel Hosting, Godaddy Domains, Figma, Photoshop, Google Analytics, GitHub, Mapbox

Process:

The previous marketing, design, and content team, rebranded Port KC a few years ago. I picked up where they left off as project manager and developer.

  • I established a project timeline, and functionality requirements, worked with the the client to gather and update content, and scheduled meetings and training.
  • I migrated usable site content and events.
  • I rebuilt the custom themed website in WordPress using Divi Theme so that the client could easily make updates to the site.
  • Geocode property addresses for Mapbox
  • Trained the Client Content Editor and her team to make updates to the new website.
  • Quality assurance fixes as well as troubleshooting bugs.
  • Created training documentation as well as tutorial videos.
  • Go live steps including submitting the sitemap, Google Analytics, dns updates, and redirections.
