Nevada State University
Goal:
This client had a website that was so custom-built that they had trouble maintaining it. They wanted a more user-friendly site, better search and document options, and rebranding from College to University.
Technologies:
WordPress, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Divi Theme, Zoho Projects, Figma, Photoshop
Process:
- I built 20+ pages and templates for the site on an extremely expedited timeline.
- Built out development plan and functionality requirements.
- Migrated old site content, blogs, resources, and custom post types.
- Trained the content team to apply the templates that I built to rebrand over 3,000 pages of existing content.
- Worked with the design team to setup the website style guide
- I built a knowledge base to hold the college policies, custom post types and a staff directory.
- Go live steps including pointing name servers.
- Quality assurance fixes as well as troubleshooting bugs.
- I provided live training sessions for our content team, the client’s content team, and the development team.
- Created training documentation as well as tutorial videos.
Knowledge Base Video Walkthru:
- I Migrated existing resources, PDFs, and categories from previous pages across the client’s old site.
- Assembled documents in the knowledge base by category.
- Where content editors previously had to edit each doc on any page it was located on, they are now custom post types that can be managed from one dashboard.
- User-friendly layout and search
- I configured the knowledge base styling to match the brand.
